WHO WE ARE
California Youth Services is a world-class substance abuse nonprofit, offering quality programs related to substance abuse, academic challenges, behavioral and mental health struggles.
Orange County’s most effective community partner providing intervention & counseling services to teens, parents, schools, and law enforcement.
Our Mission
To provide education, assessment, crisis intervention and counseling that assist families to address life’s challenges related to substance abuse, academic challenges, behavioral and mental health struggles.
Our History
California Youth Services (CYS) started in 2002 with the Juvenile Alcohol & Drug Education (JADE) Program, which offered substance abuse education and support to teens and their parents in Orange County. Over the years, CYS grew and became a sponsored project of the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin, expanding its work with schools and local law enforcement. This led to the need for individual counseling services for those requiring more support and follow-up care.
In 2010, CYS set up a counseling center to offer mental health services for all ages due to community needs. That year, participation in CYS programs increased by about 20%. Since then, CYS has become a nonprofit and has provided prevention, education, drug testing, and mental health services to thousands of young people, parents, and community members in the county.
Today, CYS is a multi-service 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization impacting more than 5,000 individuals each year with offices in Laguna Hills and Tustin and several program sites across Orange County. Our staff is experienced in helping at-risk youth with substance abuse and behavioral issues, as well as individuals and families needing mental health support. The team at CYS, including staff, speakers, board members, and volunteers, is committed to our services and seeks to grow our programs and partnerships within the community.
