Telehealth Online Counseling
Pathways Community Counseling Center Telehealth Option
Anxiety, depression, and a variety of other emotional and mental health concerns are increasingly prevalent in today's society. If you are currently experiencing emotional difficulties or simply need someone to talk to about your feelings and thoughts, California Youth Services is here to assist you in any way we can. Our telehealth program offers the same quality counseling services and is staffed by the same qualified therapists as our in-person counseling options. The only significant difference is that these supportive sessions take place online, providing you with convenience and accessibility.
-
Telehealth provides clients with "face-to-face”, online counseling and psychotherapy services. Services are provided in English and Spanish and offered as 50-minute appointments.
The provider and client connect from separate locations via a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Clients can join their virtual sessions from a private location of their choice where they will be joined by their counselor via telecommunication.
-
Telehealth uses a sophisticated yet easy-to-use videoconferencing platform that meets all HIPAA and federal security guidelines. Clients need access to a device with a web camera, mic and speakers, and reliable Internet connection.

It costs California Youth Services (CYS) $200 per session to provide our vital services, but thanks to the generosity of donations, grants, and ongoing fundraising efforts, we are able to significantly subsidize the cost for our clients. As a result, we charge only $85 per session for standard services. Additionally, if a licensed therapist is required for a particular session, the fee is set at $125.
For clients that are unable to afford the subsidized amount, we are committed to lowering the costs accordingly to meet individual financial situations. We firmly believe in our policy of never turning a client away due to their inability to afford our services. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more detailed information about how we can work together to make our counseling services affordable for you.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accept insurance or medical coverage because we are not currently set up for that process.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
